Howdy all
So we did a little river trip on Saturday the 8th from Ballincollig Park to the Lee Fields,
Mickey and Muireann were leading the trip and 4 brave souls
( James, Pam, Eoin and CiarĂ¡n ) joined them in what can only be described as fine paddling weather
( Strong winds and Heavy Rain ).
All 4 of the group having paddled during the summer were out to refine their skills, which none had forgotten during the brief off the water period :), and learn some new tips and tricks.
It was a long trip, so lunch was had half way, much to Mickeys delight as he got to pull out the Storm Shelter ( A very impressive piece of kit, we were able to keep warm and have our lunch and stay dry, i thoroughly recommend one of these for any outdoor sport ).
After lunch, the long trip to the Weir ensued, where skills were honed and new skills taught.
At the weir, which was an intimidating rapid on the day due to the high flow of water, everyone put the head down and paddled hard.
Everyone was successful, no one ended up in the drink, and there were smiles all round.
Here's looking forward to the next trip.
